I absolutely love finding out about gardeners/farmers who are innovative and creative. They help me to realize that after almost 40 years of gardening, I’ve only begun to scratch the surface. I find that exciting! Our infinite God has created our world to reflect His character and because of that there will always be something new to learn.
I recently found a documentary that may be viewed for free called Back to Eden. Paul Gautshci’s methods are extremely productive without a lot of back breaking work. He grows in wood chips! I seen this movie this year and I am hooked!! I plan to garden this way from now on. Great!! I just moved last year to a new place and the soil here is like cement. I have taken a year to just observe the shade, snow fall, sun, everything about my yard. Now I am ready and I found the Back to Eden movie. Just what I needed.
I love that you are being patient to observe your property. Everything in us wants to just move forward, but I think this is a vital step in success.

My family and I watched the film and decided to really dive in….so we are transforming our front yard into a garden. We found a free source of aged wood mulch. My dear husband and some friends have helped to transport truck loads of the mulch. They must have gone at least two dozen times, and we have dozens more loads still needed! Some of the new garden areas will not be used this growing season, but at least the ground will be ready for us when we are ready. It has been a lot of work, but a lot of fun. I must have used hundreds of newspapers to put on top of our grass. The four oldest of my children are able to help, the other three help in their little kid ways
We are all excited to taste the results of our work!
