Author Susan Vinskofski dug up her parents’ entire backyard at age sixteen to plant a vegetable garden, and has been gardening ever since. Susan is passionate about building soil and growing and eating the most nutrient-dense food she can find. When she’s not in the garden or blogging at Learning And Yearning, she’s in her kitchen preparing food from local farms or from her garden.
As an artist Deb Hamby’s love is oil painting. Subject matter often changes with life’s seasons, and her recent amusement with her new flock of chickens has brought a wealth of pleasure and delightful subject matter, along with picturesque farmlands complete with cows and barns and dramatic skies. Besides painting, Deb can often be found in the kitchen, creating masterpieces with the tastes, textures, and vivid color of real food!
More from Susan:
“My philosophy on food is really simple. Eat real food. Forget processed and packaged. Buy single ingredients, get your family together, and cook! Think about how the animal you’re eating was raised, or how the produce was grown. It truly makes a difference when it comes to nutrients. My book will teach you to grow veggies in a way that increases nutrients, because healthy soil means more nutrition is packed into each tomato. And nutrient-packed food tastes better. It really does.”
