I had a fun, online, conversation recently with some homesteader “chicks”. Some, like me, are urban homesteaders. Others have lots of acreage. And we got to chatting about what we want for Christmas. There wasn’t a bottle of perfume on the list, although chocolate, a cute sweater, and a date night did make the cut.

Warmth and Protection
Homesteaders spend a lot of time outdoors. The clothes they wear are important. They need warm socks and gloves, hats, boots and jackets. And hand warmers, too. Don’t forget the hand warmers.

Homesteader chicks spend a lot of time in the kitchen, and they are asking for tools to make their job easier! Probably half of the items my friends mentioned were for the kitchen.
Well, of course she wants an egg skelter. Where else will she keep all those eggs the hens are laying?
Canning supplies – a water bath canner, or pressure canner, and more jars and lids!
A dehydrator (this is the one I got last year for Christmas and I love it!)
A really cute apron.
Metal or glass food storage containers.
For the Garden
A cold frame or greenhouse.
Goodness, gracious. These girls want to do it all! They want:
Maple syrup making supplies Me!!! I want this!!!
A loom, a spinning wheel, and wool carding paddles
Knitting needles and wool yarn
A pocket knife, hand tools, and a multi tool
. . . and this bumper sticker .
Phew! That was exhausting, and you’ve got your work cut out for you. You better get shoppin’.
