Do you save seeds from your garden? Saving seeds is not a strong point for me, but I do save seed from my heirloom tomatoes, and from some of my flowers.
I was trying to come up with a way to use some of my seeds in a Christmas ornament and decided to make seed packets, and turn those into ornaments. This way, my friends and family can use them to decorate their trees, and then plant them in the garden when spring arrives.

Make a Seed Packet Ornament
This is the easiest tutorial ever. You’ll love it! Since I had a lot of marigold seeds that I had saved this past fall, I decided to use those. Everyone loves a marigold. Right? But any seed will do.
I ordered a pack of 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ glassine waxed paper bags (like these) to use as seed envelopes. For each ornament, I added 40 – 50 marigold seeds. Well, I didn’t count, but that’s my guestimate.
To make the stickers to seal the envelopes, I took a picture I had of marigolds from my garden and edited it in Picmonkey, a free, online photo editing program. I uploaded the photo, and used Frames, Shape Cutouts, to form a circle. Then I added the words, “Marigold Seeds” to that and saved the pic.
I placed this on a Word document 16 times and printed. Then I cut them out, and used a glue stick to add glue to the back and make my homemade sticker.
Once I sealed the envelope with my sticker, I used some ribbon, greens and berries to embellish the ornament. I used a hole punch to make a hole, and string to add a hanger. Project done!
