Dock Seed Brownies
A delicious brownie made from the seeds of yellow dock; a wonderful foraged treat using an easy to find seed!

pure maple syrup
pure vanilla extract
dock seed flour *
flour of your choice
or use all dock seed flour
Heat oven to 350°F.
Grease the bottom of an 8 x 8, or 9 x 9 baking pan.
Cream butter, maple syrup, coconut sugar and vanilla extract.
Add eggs and beat on high speed for 5 minutes. (Don't skip this important step).
Combine flour, cocoa, and salt. Add to egg mixture and beat on low until just blended. Do not over blend.
Stir in nuts, if using.
Spread the batter into the greased pan.
Bake for 35–40 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool before cutting into squares.
