Have you ever printed out an eBook? I haven’t, but I think that’s about to change. Simply Salads, by Season by Kristen Michaelis of Food Renegade has so many recipes that I know I’ll be using over and over, that I want a printed copy right in my kitchen, alongside all my other cookbooks.
Actually, this book surprised me. I opened it with a bit of a yawn, to be honest. But that changed to pleasant surprise very quickly. First of all, Kristen’s book is full of recipes for every imaginable dressing, including some that are high in probiotics. I made the honey mustard already and it’s culturing on my countertop. The smell is divine!
Since I don’t buy bottled dressing, and I’m in a rut with my homemade dressing, I need this book. And I love the way she has it arranged by season. Yes, we should be eating seasonally, and a salad in the winter should look different than a summer salad.
And did I mention, there is even a recipe for a dessert salad? Yep, it’s made with grapes, and sour cream, and a few other goodies. Ok, I’m in. How about you?
The book also covers equipment like food processors and blenders that will make your job in the kitchen so much easier. I promise you, you’ll want the spiral slicer as soon as you see it.
Simply Salads, by Season eBook has 99 pages of salad recipes, with 28 dressing and condiment recipes. It is available here for $17.95.
