Celebrations and Cake Just Go Together
Don’t you just love to celebrate? Your little one’s birthday, grandma and grandpa’s anniversary, a graduation for a special student.
Celebrations are joyous times that demand cake, right? And cake demands frosting. Real food frosting, that is!
Whether I’m making my amazing Parsnip Cake or my husband’s favorite Black Magic Cake, I like to keep the frosting simple. Like two ingredients simple.

I love this real food frosting because it’s not too sweet, relatively healthy, and (did I already say this) simple.
Quinn at Reformation Acres has reminded me that you can incorporate your healthy living lifestyle into celebrations. Her gorgeous eBook Cake Stand has 30 cake recipes made from scratch. She does a fantastic job of weaving her real food philosophy into her celebrations.
And how can you not love a book that begins with this quote from John Calvin? “If we consider for what end He created food, we shall find that He consulted not only for our necessity but also for our enjoyment and delight.”
Cake Stand includes cakes like Apricot Cream Cake, Harvest Apple Cake and Rhubarb Custard Cake. Chocolate lovers, don’t despair. I counted seven different chocolate cake recipes. Seven!
Cake Stand contains lots of frosting recipes, of course, or you could just use my recipe for frosting that only has two ingredients.

- 3/4 - 1 cup raw honey
- Allow the cream cheese to come to room temperature to soften. Place the softened cream cheese and raw honey in a bowl. Using a hand mixer, blend thoroughly.
